Kelly Costello, LCSW-C

Kelly  received her B.A. in social work from Salisbury University in 2001.  She obtained advanced standing at University of Maryland and completed her Master's in Social Work in 2002.  Kelly has over ten years of experience working in the mental health field, focusing primarily on children and families.  She completed her undergraduate internship in an inpatient drug rehabilitation program.  Her graduate internships were in two residential treatment programs, one of which treated teem males and the second serviced children between the ages of four and eight.

After completing graduate school, Kelly received the National Certified Counselor credential and became a  Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida.  In 2008, she  returned to her home state and became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland.  Kelly received her Registered Play Therapist Supervisor credential from the Association for Play Therapy after completing extensive training and supervision in play therapy.  Kelly provides supervision as an Approved Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Supervisor in Maryland and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.  She founded Child Parent Counseling, LLC in 2013 and continues to serve as a therapist and Director of the practice. 

Therapists

After completing graduate school, Kelly obtained her social work license in the state of Maryland and began her career in the Towson area of Baltimore County.  She worked for nine years in a treatment foster care program where she worked with children with separation and adjustment issues, autism, learning and developmental disabilities, and PTSD.  She has extensive experience working in the public school system and court system.  Kelly completed an Early Childhood Mental Health certificate program in 2008.  She obtained her clinical license in 2010 and shortly after began providing supervision. 


Kelly subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers.  Kelly maintains her license by obtaining 40 continuing education training hours biannually.  These trains focus on children, families, evidenced based practices, and diagnosing and assessing.

Welcome!    The therapists at Child Parent Counseling, LLC take great care and responsibility in our role to help children, teens, parents and their families.  We create a safe and nurturing environment for clients to begin the process of change.  Our specialized background in working with children and families provides a developmentally responsive and evidence-based type of treatment.  Clients and families identify strengths and use these assets to help uncover their own ability to connect with others, heal hearts and create new methods of handling struggles in their lives.  

Kelli Kunert, LCSW-C

                                                                                     Baltimore in 1990. Prior to her master’s degree, she attended Mt.

                                                                                     St. Mary’s University and received a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in

                                                                                     Sociology. Kelli has over three decades of experience working in the

                                                                                     mental health field in a variety of roles, including program therapist,

                                                                                     educational case manager, director of an outpatient mental health

                                                                                     clinic, and intensive outpatient drug and alcohol program for adolescents, director of admissions, and program development. She has served in outpatient, residential, and school settings.


Kelli is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and holds an School Social Worker Advanced Professional Certificate from MSDE. In the past, she has also been certified as prevention professional.  She is a Board Approved Social Work Supervisor and has provided clinical supervision to graduate level therapists. Kelli subscribes to the Board of Social Work Examiners and National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics. Kelli attends multiple professional development trainings annually to enrich and develop her practice and consults with other highly skilled practitioners to promote growth.
